Fundraising, Public Relations and Editing Volunteer
Time Frame: 6 months
This position is available
Ittijah a volunteer to assist with: Fundraising, Public Relations and Editing. Ittijah expects a volunteer to stay for at least six months.
Intern responsibilities include:
- Fundraising: writing fundraising proposals; reporting to donors; maintaining and developing donor relations; researching new funding opportunities.
- Public relations: writing and editing and distributing the bi-weekly newsletter to ensure different audiences are informed of the work of Ittijah and its members; writing press releases; monitoring local and international media; reporting on Ittijah's attendance at international events and advocacy at in the international arena.
- Depending on Ittijah’s priorities and interns' capacities and interests, interns may be asked to take on special projects.
- Participation in internal and external meetings with Ittijah member associations and other partner organizations, including funding bodies.
The suitable candidate will have:
- Native-level fluency in English
- Proficiency in computer and word processing
- Ability to work flexibly and independently
- Good communication skills
- Willingness to learn and a demonstrable commitment to human rights.
The preferred candidate will have:
- Working knowledge of Arabic
- Experience of fundraising
- Some understanding of the unique situation of the Palestinians in Israel.

Volunteer Translators Arabic-English
Do you like to translate between Arabic and English? Ittijah is in need of your help!
Ittijah produces most of its publications in Arabic, and wants to make them available for the English-speaking world. We are looking for interested Arabic speakers with high proficiency in English, or bilingual speakers, who can translate our publications (in whole or in part) by e-mail for us.
Ittijah is also looking for volunteers to translate from English to Arabic, especially for translating Ittijah’s newsletter and website on a regular basis.
